Well, just make sure to keep the appendix around in a jar or something. They tend to have all those charts and tables and illustrations that might come in handy later.

Also, Josh, did your nose light up when they hit your abdominal wall?

I would have gone for the laparotomy instead. You get a cool scar that can be a real icebreaker at parties.

Wow, so was this like an emergency surgery situation?

It was kind of an emergency thing. I went to the doctor's office with a stomach ache. I figured I'd get some medicine for a bug or something. After a blood test, they sent me to the hospital for a CT Scan (which I would now avoid at all costs). They then congratulated me for having appendicitis and wheeled me down to pre-op. They consider it an emergency because the appendix could rupture and be potentially fatal. I'm recovering pretty quickly so far and hope to be back to my regular schedule on Monday.
