the old band had a song where the lead guitar and the bass played the exact same 5 note melody during one part of the song. this was dubbed the 'double donger' by someone (not me).

orchestras have tons of people playing the same melody line at the same time, too. but they're (usually) in tune with each other.

Except for the viola section. Violas are known to be out of tune....

And the oboes. Well except nowadays most orchestras tune to the oboe but I have a hard time saying the entire ensemble is out of tune compared to the oboe.

I'm surprised they have oboes still.. you'd figure in this day and age they'd be outsourced to snake chamers.
