Well, that's craptastic. The insets don't show in IE.

The entire menu is highlighted also, vice only the menu item being moused over.

This happens only in IE; Firefox does quite a nice job.

I like the new design, but I've always been a fan of blue. Your avatar looks a little out of place now without any blue in it.

FABombjoy has pointed out some possible fixes for the issues, so I'll try to get those in soon.

I've had a few comments to bring back the old squiggle logo. Any thoughts?

I don't remember the old squiggle logo enough to make a decision about bringing it back, but I'm sure it's a good idea.

Old squiggle logo, as in my avatar. Instead of the jar brain.

Where did the brain-in-a-jar image come from? Do you have clear copyright use on it?

That's my primary concern, honestly, and I'll have to defer that question to duo.

Upon further viewing on a laptop-sized screen (1024x768), you may want to consider either decreasing the font tracking on the upper-right quicklink bar OR shrinking the font size (and subsequently making it non-oblique). The large-sized subject of the 'latest forum message' causes the box to trounce on top of the Ron's Brain logo/text.

How's that?

And how's the other quirks?

duo has informed me that the brain in a jar is in the public domain, to the best of his knowledge. I have a lead that I'm following up on.

The logo has been important in defining the site, I think. The old "fan club" site had that circle image, and I think it really helped identify the site. I want to make sure the new logo does the same thing, so opinions are greatly appreciated.

I like the idea of putting the squggle brain in the jar.

You know, that actually might be pretty interesting.

Ah ha! I've found the source of the logo!

I'm missing the part where permission is given to edit & use the graphic as an identifying trademark-like instrument on an unrelated web page.

Ahem, uh... anyway, everything seems to be in order with the CSS now. Except the recent links thing is now painfully hard to read since it's both small & italicized. But for the most part things seem be coming together quite nicely.

I can make it big and Hebrew. Would that help?
