If you need to approach an armored car man, remember that to keep him from getting spooked, treat him like a horse. If you approach from behind, stand slightly to the side and pat him on the upper thigh. Slowly slide your hand over his rump and back. Say encouraging words like, "hey boy, atta boy", and when your hand reaches his mane, kind of brush it around and run your fingers throught it. By now he should be aware of your presence - look into his big eyes and give him a smile.
