I have a question about your One-way Messenger, which is why I added this thread. Is it possible to run the server on a different computer from the one I'm at? If it is, tell me how.

If I understand your question, which I don't, then the answer is that you cannot run the server without physically being at the machine unless you have some sort of terminal services access or use something like BackOrifice. Once the server is on the machine, however, then the client can connect to it from anywhere.

Dear Ron,

Is it possible to run a program on my computer, even though I am not there? What if I am there? What if I run the program, and then leave, and then come back? What if I never come back? What if I run the program, and the computer leaves?

The only reason I am asking this is because... aww crap, I gotta go. Bye.

Dear FABombjoy,

I didn't actually read your question, so I'll just copy a portion of the DOD Civil Defense Student Manual from November of 1966:

In this age of nuclear weapons, United States continental defense forces have two strategic objectives:
1. To deter a deliberate nuclear attack upon the United States and its allies by maintaining a clear and convincing capability to inflict unacceptable damage on an attacker, even if that attacker were to strike first. The Defense Department terms this capability "Assured Destruction."
2. In the event a nuclear attack should nevertheless occur, to limit damage to our population and industrial capacity. The Defense Department terms this capability "Damage Limitation."

I hope that your answer was in there somewhere!
