Someone e-mailed me and told me that he enjoyed my blog very much. This was initially a shock to me. At the time, my concept of the word "blog" was that of a verb, meaning "to drown a flaming kitten in a bowl of measuring tapes." This is more difficult than one might originally think, and I don't ever recall succeeding^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H trying. I finally discovered that "blog" is short for "weblog" which is short for "crappy online diary." This is where I have to make some sort of distinction.

It would be an error to consider this site a diary. I don't document my life on this site. Sure, sometimes I rant or tell a funny story or demonstrate my research abilities, but I don't detail my personal life. My android heritage forbids it. Instead, I waste my time. I waste it by doing pointless things with this site. The polls? Pointless. The fortunes? Pointless. This article? Pointless. This isn't to say, however, that wasting time is a bad thing but I just want to be honest.

I want folks to enjoy my site. That's why I try to make opportunities to waste time. Everyone enjoys wasting time. Nobody enjoys it more than me, but what can ya do?
