I had yesterday off. Sarah didn't, because she had a professional development day, which is a day that a teacher has to go to school but the students don't. Sounds like a screw job if I ever heard one. Sucks to be a teacher. Anyway, Sarah told me to send the kids to day care and have some time for myself. Sweet! "I can get caught up with some projects, finally" I thought to myself. What projects did I work on?
None.
Well, I managed to open the source code for An Evening In Bangkok in a text editor, but that was about it. I spent half the day looking for a place that was open where I could buy guitar picks, and the other half screwing around with my USB audio interface.
The snowman that Brianna and I built has melted. It was lying face down in the lawn, like the victim of some icy execution. His stick arms were sprawled out, the broom was haphazardly dropped to the ground, and slush was oozing from the thawing corpse. It was creepy, I tell ya.
Anyway, my previous post indicated some ideas I had, like a "user of the week" thing. The concept here is that I'd pick a user at random, establish contact, forward a list of questions, and post the answers in a news article. This has two benefits: firstly, I can generate some content without doing anything, and secondly, you bastard lurkers can get an opportunity to post something. So, with that I'll spin the Wheel O' Users, which looks like this:
SELECT * FROM `Users`
where Level > 0
and LastAction > 0
order by rand()
limit 1
And I get Annie. Not the musical. I hope. So, I'll give Annie an e-mail and we'll get this user of the week nonsense going.
Anyone else got any hare-brained schemes?
