Absent mindedness

For those of you who may know me, you know that I'm a bit absent minded at times. Today was one of those days that I realize just how true that is. I went out to take the garbage to the curb. As I always do, I checked the neighbor's trash barrels to make sure I didn't miss the truck. But nobody had trash out on the curb. I thought that maybe it was because trash was delayed due to President's Day or some horseshit. Then I realized that it was Thursday, and the trash doesn't come until Friday. I put the trash back in the garage, hoping that nobody saw me and wondered what I was doing. I suppose a fun social experiment would be to put the trash out on the wrong day and see how many other people follow suit. Well, it would probably be fun to someone else interested in social experiments, like a socialist.

As I was going to work, I noticed that the traffic was unusually thin. I figured I was making good time, so I looked at the speedometer. 90. I don't know what it is about my car, but it's really easy to go fast and not realize it. Not really sure if this is an "absent minded" thing, but I sure wasn't paying much attention to my speed. However, when I looked back to the road, someone came out of nowhere and flew by me as if I were parked on the shoulder. I checked again to make sure I didn't misread the speedometer, which I hadn't, so this guy must have been doing at least 105. It was a bit of a shock.

A few days ago, Sarah called me and told me that I sent the diaper bag to day care but didn't put any of Alex's diapers in it. I told her that I was sure I packed diapers for both him and Rachel. She said that there were two stacks of Rachel diapers. So basically I packed Rachel, did something else, then packed Rachel again. Alex ended up wearing a Rachel sized diaper. My bad.

That's all I got. If you have stories of my absent mindedness, feel free to post them here. Who doesn't like to laugh at Ron?
