A while ago, KingFilament sent me a link to an excellent educational series entitled Look Around You. I highly recommend watching them, as they are both thought provoking and entertaining.

Module 1 - Maths
Module 2 - Water
Module 3 - Germs
Module 4 - Ghosts
Module 5 - Sulphur
Module 6 - Music
Module 7 - Iron
Module 8 - The Brain

So, be sure to have your copybooks handy and spend the next hour or so watching these fine films.

Today Sarah had me rescue a baby bird from the runoff drain from the garage eavestrough. I climbed on the roof to see how trapped the bird was, but it wasn't visible at the depth it had fallen. My only choice was to remove the drain. I moved my handy ladder to the gutter and found the appropriate socket for the hex heads of the screws holding everything in place. I began to loosen the first screw when the bird escaped through the bottom of the drain. This was an unusual species of bird, having ears, buck teeth, brown fur and a large bushy tail. It scampered off to live its full and useful life as hawk chow. All is well in the avian world tonight, thanks to my dilligence and caring for nature.
