I got the ratings working. Apparently the servers no longer like carriage returns or line feeds in an x-www-form-urlencoded post request. Awesome. I guess if I were really doing it the AJAX way, I'd post up an XML document. I'm not cool enough for that, though.
I saw a poster that caught me a bit off guard as I was heading home the other day. It had a ominous pair of eyes on it and was bright orange. It was on the doors of a building that appeared to be abandoned. As I slowed down to inpsect it, pissing of countless motorists in the process, I saw that it was letting people know that the building was being watched and monitored to protect it from possible arson on Halloween. For those that don't know, it's customary for Detroiters to burn down their fair city on October 30th and sometimes the 31st. Apparently, some people don't like that, so that good ol' Irish gent Kwame Kilpatrick is trying to crack down on it.
I was going to get a picture of the poster today, but it was missing when I went by, quite likely ending up in someone's burn barrel.
