Ron's Brain

There once was a brain from Nantucket...
Khet

I received a game for Christmas called Khet. It reminds me of Laser Chess, which I entered, line-by-line, into my Atari 1200XL from a Compute! magazine. The game is interesting and very fun. I recommend it. I wish that the lasers themselves were mobile pieces, but I didn't make the thing, so I don't have much control over it. Or do I?

I've been screwing around with GarageBand recently. It's a fun little program, but I've been finding some deficiencies. I like to play around with mixed and asymmetric meter type of stuff. GarageBand does not. I have a few MIDI files that I've imported to play around with them, and some of them end up going crazy. But for quick bursts of creativity, the software seems to work well.

Speaking of MIDI files, I recently modified one with a hex editor. I was exporting an IT file to MIDI for some reason, and it wasn't dumping the starting tempo, so I had to go in and add that meta event to a track. At first I thought that maybe I may have forgotten to clear the serial port so that the AGP can partition the non-deterministic processor, but that didn't seem to be the case, so I looked up the MIDI file format and made the adjustments. Not recommended.

And... that's it! Welcome back, those of you that are recovering from New Year's Eve.
