As used by Erdös to solve the Zero-sum Problem
$.69 x 5 x 1.06 = Uh.... Give Me Some Money

I know everyone complains about cashiers not having much skill in the area of arithmetic. Since I wish to be a pansy conformist, I'll complain as well. You see, every Wednesday the local mexican place has "Wacky Wednesday," during which some of the menu items are only sixty-nine cents. I ordered (like I always do) four tacos (at $.69 each) and a small drink (also at $.69). The grand total for this feast was $6.19. This was odd, because every other time I order this it comes to $3.66. I asked the cashier if this was correct. Her witty and insightful response was, "That's what the machine says." How dare I doubt the veracity of a computer! I asked her if five times sixty-nine cents plus sales tax would even be close to six bucks. "Pretty close." Pretty close. I guess on the grand scale of the national debt or the reciprocal of this person's IQ, a difference of two would be pretty close. However, on the grand scale of I-only-have-a-five-spot-for-lunch, a two dollar difference is nothing to sneeze at. Why one would want to sneeze at anything intentionally is beyond me. Anyhow, I asked her to re-ring the order. She turned to the owner (we call him Taco Bob) and said I was refusing to pay. He turned and asked if he could help me and I told him the bottom line was too high for what I ordered. He looked at the receipt and repeated my order, plus two more tacos and a large drink. I told him it wasn't accurate and gave him my order. He gladly re-rang the order and the transaction was completed. He turned to the cashier and told her to check the register before ringing a transaction. She said, "Well, it wasn't my fault. There was no reason for him to not pay." They both went into the "Private" room and had a talk, I'm assuming.

I know that was a worthless rant. You read it. You can't un-read it. Gotcha!
