So, firstly, I hope Marcus has been able to hang in there. He's been activley involved in this year's Tornadopalooza, sponsored by Tropicana Twister, and partying with Cy the Cyclone, the lovable mascot for the event. That scamp! But seriously, I hope things end up well for you, man.
I was going to build a picnic table for the kids this weekend. I have a fair amount of spare lumber in my garage, and with a quick assessment I decided that I had enough material to start this project, and I would just need some hardware. After returning from the hardware store, however, I was disappointed to discover that the lumber gnomes came and swiped some of by two by fours. Thus, that project never got started. Perhaps next weekend.
We watched The Illusionist over the weekend. Meh. It seemed okay as I was watching it, but in retrospect it wasn't that great. And THAT was the true magic of this film. I think the thing that annoyed me during the movie is that a majority of the tricks appeared to be computer animated. Oh sure, Edward Norton did a French Drop here and there, but the really cool illusions were faked. You can't make a movie about a magician and not have any, you know, magic in it. But what do I know?
Today's lesson learned: do not attempt to start a Honda Accord with the key to a Chrysler Town and Country. The key will not want to come out easily.
Hope you had a great weekend. Tell us about it. I'll be seeing ya.
