This past weekend was very busy. Saturday was the company picnic. I played softball and volleyball, though not simultaneously. The kids ate so much sugar that they were on another plane of existence. I know there are studies that indicate sugar has no effect on behavior, but I'm convinced that this theory is the outcome of statistical error or insufficient dosages. The kids weren't hyperactive, which is the stereotypical behavior, but were instead superfocused, as though everything was moving in slow motion for them. It was just odd.
Yesterday (Sunday) we had a party for me because I'm awesome. We grilled some burgers on my new grill. Oh, I got a new grill. My old grill had flames shooting from the knobs, which is not a typical result of normal operation. It was a good time.
I broke a set of hedge trimmers on Sunday. I guess I hit a branch that was too thick, and now the things don't work. To fully understand this, I think I should describe the trimmers. I have a gas powered weed whip, but the whip part can be removed and other things attached. Sarah bought me some hedge trimmers to attach to this thing. At first it was going through everything like butter, but then I hit something that it couldn't handle, and now the teeth move back and forth very slowly. I had to finish the job with pruning shears. I reclaimed about 10% of my deck, though. It's been that long since I've trimmed.
If you go back through the archives you'll discover whose birthday it is today. Happy birthday, fool.
