Snow and stuff

We got some snow. I had to shovel yesterday. It was rather tiring. I'm not used to, you know, exercise. The bit of shoveling I hate has to be the part of the driveway where it meets the road. The plows come through and throw a bunch of slush there, and that shit is heavy. It probably takes me the longest to shovel the last five yards of the driveway than any other part. Hard to say.

Rachel is a snowbird, by the way. Her fingers were frozen to the bone, yet I really had to convince her that she should go inside and warm up. She loves playing in the snow. She doesn't even mind a snowball fight. And if a "snowball" happened to be a shovelful of snow, she doesn't mind that either. Er, she wouldn't mind that. I'm being hypothetical here. Yeah, that's it.

Sarah did some baking over the weekend. If you're in the neighborhood and want some cookies or banana bread, stop on by. That's yummy stuff.

The drive in to work was fine this morning. I was surprised that a majority of the schools here were closed. Sarah was surprised as well. She took Brianna to the school, which is where she discovered that it had been canceled. Brianna's first snow day and we screwed it up. Ah well.

For some reason the roads in downtown Detroit are never adequately plowed. They're not even half-adequately plowed. Some guy in a truck dropped a blade in the middle of the street at random intervals and called it good. I don't imagine it will get any better, either. They'll send a salt truck out around July, I think.

Tonight Brianna asked me how to make a video game. Looks like I might have some good father/daughter projects coming up in the next few years.

How was your weekend? Do anything exciting? Lemmie know.
