Over the weekend we went to a friend's wedding reception. It was a neat format, as it was more of an open house than a reception. People came and went, there were plenty of hot dogs and hamburgers, and we all enjoyed the outdoors. I would say it was a success. The kids had a great time. Alex spent the afternoon scaring girls and chasing them. Brianna played with the friends' little girl and they ended up with a half-inch coating of glitter on their faces. Rachel would play a bit with Brianna and them come back and hang out with us.

On Sunday we had a party for Brianna's birthday. I made barbecue drumsticks and also grilled some corn on the cob. Sarah baked a cake from scratch, and it was excellent. The neighbor girl came over, as she and Brianna are starting to become close. Her older brother came over too and he played video games. The older sister came over as well, and she stood in the corner, annoyed that she had to be there. Oh to be a teenage girl again. Memories. Anyway, the party was a lot of fun and Brianna received many more Webkinz than I had hoped she would and all was good. Sarah and I got her a jumprope, mainly because we told her that she could have a Webkinz or dinner at Chuck E. Cheese, and she chose the latter. She seemed disappointed, but Sarah and I are also discussing the purchase of a guitar. Brianna has been bringing it up a lot, and I figure if she plays it a lot, great, if she doesn't I have two more kids that might. One of them is bound to have some sort of musical ability.

So, how have you been?

Oh, Answer Of The Day: orange marmalade.
