My friend moved from California to Indiana over the holidays and I went down there this past weekend to get his car to him and help him move some furniture. We were inside the U-Haul getting ready to move a dresser when a neighbor kid walks up and looks inside. He seemed dumbfounded about something, but finally went on his merry way. After a while, he came back with his sister and some sleds. They both stood there and watched us, then they started to kick snow onto the walkway and pat it down. I asked them if they were making it good and slick. The question was met with a blank stare. They then just walked away as if nothing happened. We had to clear off the walkway with hockey sticks because my friend didn't have a snow shovel. Is there something in the water down there? Do they not understand Michigander? Were we part of a "special" neighborhood? Who knows? At least it wasn't Ohio, though.
