Okay, okay, okay. I'm settled. I'm in the flow of things. Time for an update.
Alex's vision has improved a lot over the past few months. He will be done with his patch soon. He will need to wear glasses for several years, but he won't run the risk of being mistaken for a pirate, like his old man.
Brianna has finished Kindergarten. She had to miss the last day of school though because she had conjunctivitis. She is now on summer break and will be starting the first grade in September.
Rachel is just cute ol' Rachel.
I made an in-cabinet spice rack for Sarah over the weekend. I will not buy "craft boards" again. They are too inconsistent. I should probably find someone with a jointer and borrow it when I need lumber. There's a mill not far from me, but they charge by the hour for cutting the wood to dimension, with a minimum charge of fifteen minutes. I don't really have the cash to stock up, so I'll just wait until I find something that I want to do in some nice wood and save up and get some of it. Sure, I can get oak and poplar at Lowe's and that's no big deal, but if I need it less than 1" thick or I want something like cherry or tiger maple, then it's to this mill I'll have to go.
NetGoddess got a brick patio over the weekend, and we went over there and helped break it in. Much beer was consumed. rich stopped by and shared in the merriment. The kids ran each over with the Power Wheels tractor, which is always a good time.
I have not played my guitar in a very long time. I picked it up last week and played, and any strength or callus I had in my left fingers is now gone. I'll have to rip through some chords and scales for about a half hour a day for a while to build it all back up. It was nice to play again, though. Oh, I also picked a bit at the mandolin, but I think that was even harder on my fingers.
I think I'm caught up. I may have missed some things here or there. Let me know if I left anything out. Tell me what you've been up to.
