Hi there. I'm back from vacation. I had the honor of standing at Josh and Nicole's wedding. Here are several pictures of the occasion. The food was great and everyone was tearing up the dance floor.
The whole thing took place in Escanaba. We stayed in the House of Ludington which was very fun. Our room apparently was at one time a dressmaker's shop, and there was a large window facing the hallway, which was covered with curtains to hide the fact that I was watching Spongebob. The kids loved the place. There were little alcoves everywhere that they could explore.
After the wedding festivities were over, we went camping at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshor. The area is a magnificent display of Michigan. It was also colder than a witch's tit. A dead witch's tit. Dipped in liquid nitrogen. I was up right around six every morning because I was too cold to sleep. After two nights we bought new sleeping bags. The kids were roasty toasty, though, so don't worry about that.
I've been back for a couple of days. I made a new tool. This is a frame saw, although some people call a bow saw a frame saw. Call it what you want. Here's a picture:
Here is a piece of 5/4 red oak that I cut into about 3/4" "book end" pieces. I love the grain. These are after planing. Just mentioning that so you don't think they came right off the saw all shiny and smooth:
I have plenty of tales about the vacation, but I'll draw those out over the next week or two. What have you been up to?
